SEW FORGING DIVISION

Commissioned in 2019, the Hot Forging division is a new member to the SEW family. The line is capable of performing closed die hot forging of parts with any complex geometry and profile and weighing up to 25 Kgs.

PRODUCTS

We specialize in forging transmission components, mainly Gear Shifter Yokes for our customer in the USA. They are characterized by complex geometry and profile requiring comformance to stringent dimensional standards.

Electricity Station

HIGH TENSION POWER SUPPLY

We have a dedicated High Tension power supply with an approved demand of 430 Kva. With room for further enhancement up to 630 Kva, we are ready for expanding further on our hot forging line.

250KW INDUCTION HEATER

We have invested in the best of its class high power induction heater that provides the supplies the heated billet in seconds to be forged in the hammer. This also ensures zero pollution and 3 minutes start up time, as against the traditional oil furnace.

2 TON DROP HAMMER

The 2 Ton Drop Hammer is the lifeline of our hot forging division. Requiring a team of skilled workforce to perform the job, the Drop Hammer has the capacity to turn any hot billet weighing up to 25 kgs to a a meaningful complex product that is ready for further value addition such as machining. Currently, it produces about 30 Tons per month.

300 TON MECHANICAL PRESS

A German Krupp make 300 Ton mechanical press with pneumatic bed return mechanism is employed for trimming forged jobs.

DIE MAKING AND HEAT TREATMENT

We have collaborated with partners who specialize in the preparation and resinking of forging dies with utmost precision and ensure conformity to tolerances with quick turn around time each time. 

Similarly, we have joined hands with a vendor for performing all kinds of Heat Treatment such as Normalizing,Tempering, Annealing, Hardening.

300 KG TUMBLE TYPE SHOT BLASTER

A fully automatic steel shot blasting machine ensures smooth surface finish in 15 minutes.


Due to the availability of additional capacity, we also perform shot blasting for all kinds of steel jobs from our partners and customers as a service.

MAGNETIC PART INSPECTION

We perform a thorough Magnetic inspection of all hot forged parts produced to detect any cracks or laps on the surface. Depending on the findings, we amend the process to eliminate all such imperfections, major or minor, and ensure 100% flawless parts are only sent to the customer. This is an essential inspection to be performed in Hot Forging.

500KVA POWER BACKUP

With 2*250KVa Diesel Generators on site, we have more than sufficient power back up to ensure that our Hot Forging line is fully functional even in the event of a power failure.
The DG sets are equipped with the latest state of the art Power Synchronizing technology that automatically turns on the generators after a specified amount of time in case of a power failure, and also dynamically decides if only one or both generators are required based on the instantaneous load.

AUXILIARY MACHINERY

The functioning of our entire unit is facilitated by a host of support machinery:

1.) 50HP screw compressor with 3000 Ltr storage tank capacity that supplies air pressure at up to 12 Bar pressure throughout the facility.

2.) Dedicated cooling tower for the 2Ton Hammer providing 30 TR of cooled water to ensure that the Hammer runs without overheating even after continuous operation.

3.) An 80 TR cooling tower for the 250KW Induction Heater supplemented with a 7.5 HP pump for efficient heat dissipation.
